Meet Your ICA Consultants
Michael Krauthamer - Midwest USA
Michael Krauthamer is an accomplished musician who learned at an early age the positive influence of music. He uses music as a tool to elicit strong emotions and also calm and give comfort to those in need. He graduated from Indiana University with a B.A., and an emphasis in Human Behavioral Science with a minor in Social Psychology. From his first experience with persons with dementia, he learned that through observing their actions and locating “their reality” he could effectively communicate. Once this was accomplished, he used two simple techniques to communicate and “redirect” what some people call “behaviors,” meaning negative behaviors. Today, he helps spread the word about ICA to lead other organizations into the exciting challenge of reshaping their dementia care culture--from the ground up!
